My First Mother's Day!

Yesterday was so hot, Cambria and I headed over to my parents house to swim in their pool. It was so much fun. Cambria got to ride the horse I was given when I was born by my Grandparents. She loved it and didn't want us to stop rocking her. Then, she got to try a Popsicle and she wasn't quite sure what to think of it! She loved her floating raft in the pool and kept trying to rock it and make it go side-to-side. It was a great day.

My two presents next to me this morning....this awesome camera and of course the best present of all, Cambria. I also was served breakfast in bed. I have an amazing family. I am so lucky!

The best present of all!

My first "client", Apollo. He's going to be so sick of me photographing him but he's such a good dog! All I have to say is "biscuit" to get his attention!!!Gotta love how she opens her mouth when you kiss her!

The two loves of my life that made my day even more special!

I love you Valerie, I'm so glad we got to see you today!!!!
I love Valerie's smile in this one!
To our mother's Jackie and Paula, we love you both so very much. We are so grateful to have real life examples of what a mother should be. Cambria is so lucky to have two wonderful grandmother's!!

San Antonio Zoo with Hailey Bear

On Wednesday, Cambria and I met up with Tiffany and Hailey. We decided to go to lunch and then to the San Antonio Zoo. We ate at Joseph's in Alamo Heights. It was VERY good. I had never been there and I would definitely go back. After we ate, we went to the zoo. I have never been to the SA Zoo so this was a fun experience for me to share with my daughter. It was a very hot day but fun to see all the animals. I was quite impressed with how amazing our zoo is! I think the girls had a lot of fun because I know the mom's did! We also got a bonus in the Hippo area....Tim Duncan and his family were there! In fact, as I walked up, I was thinking to myself that this man is very tall and then it clicked as to who it was. I bumped Tiff to let her know and it was funny to see her face change as she too recognized him! I'm sure the dad's are sad that their daughters didn't get pictures with him but we wanted to leave him alone! All in all it was such a fun day that we got to spend with the girls!

EMS Visit

Cambria and I had a doctor's appointment this morning to have them check her bug bites that won't go away. So, I ran up to my school to give my lesson plan to the sub and I got a call from Todd saying that EMS was on their way to our house!!! Cambria fell off our bed and hit her head on the tile. Well, I got home right when they were checking her out in their truck. That was scary! They said she was okay and all her vitals were normal. She just had a big bump on her head. The EMT said he would not take her to the hospital if I promised to take her to the doctor right away. It was a scary morning especially to see your baby in an ambulance.

My Hair!

So, I was curious to see what my hair would look like brown...here it is! I may dye it a little darker, but I like it! I think it's almost the same as my sister's color!

First Haircut

Cambria got her first haircut today and Grandmother got to cut it! She cut hair during college and so we thought it would be a fun and memorable moment to have her give Cambria her first haircut.
BEFORE

Look at that long hair!

Grandmother had to hold Cambria's face since she kept wanting to look around and grab the comb!

Someone had to have entertainment! :)
And her own comb! Make that two combs!
AFTER
Notice how it's all even and pretty. Now it can just grow, grow, grow!!! Thanks Grandmother! You did a fabulous job!!

Weekend Wrap-up

We had a wonderful weekend getting to spend time with Cambria. Here's a few new of our new experiences....

Our first temper tantrum! Although, later, I discovered ant bites on her ankles and she's got two top teeth coming in...oh, and she was tired to boot! So, it wasn't completely a temper tantrum...she just needed to cuddle with mommy.

BEFORE
We turned Cambria's car seat around so that she could have a better view. She's almost there in age and definitely in weight. Nana wanted to see what Cambria would do with licorice....
AFTER
Notice the big smile? She loved the licorice and my mom now wants to find the picture of me looking the same way to compare the two. Unfortunately I cannot eat licorice around Cambria now without her wanting to share!

We went to Alamo Cafe twice this week!! We love it so much!

Peekaboo! I see you! Cambria was playing and watching Elmo. We've had so much fun together so far. I'm excited that we still have a whole WEEK left!!! Yay!!!
