Swine Flu

Todd and I got a phone call last night saying that our school district is closed until May 11th so that they can clean all the schools and buses in hopes of preventing the spread of Swine Flu in our county and district. There are three cases under investigation but I'm hoping and crossing my fingers that these are not teachers and/or students. The district to the east of us has closed their schools indefinitely. We are keeping a constant eye on Cambria and she seems to be very healthy.

Now that we have all this unexpected free time. We are having fun and spending tons of quality time together. It is so nice! Cambria and Todd read a book this morning which ironically is called Olivia about a pig! Notice Todd's new haircut...he bet his students that he would shave his head if they made Regionals for Water polo and they did! Cambria was also practicing walking with her new walker Nana got her. She loves it! We also had fun playing peekaboo! I am so excited that I get all this uninterrupted time with my family. However, we have been praying for those families affected by Swine flu, especially the family of the little boy in Houston.

Waterpolo is over

Last weekend was the last waterpolo game for the season. It's been a good season and the team made regionals in the first year! Good job SV and Todd! We love you!!

11 months

Cambria turned 11 months on the 22nd so I'm a little late on this! Here are a few of her favorite activities this month. We have discovered the guitar. She loves it when Todd plays for her. She's going to musical like her parents and grandfather (my dad). In fact, this is the guitar my dad gave me! She likes everything about it....even climbing on top of the case. I believe she may be the next Ovation model. We are getting close to walking. It should be any day now. She can balance, walk along furniture and lets go. I can't believe in less than a month I will have a toddler! Wow.

Chores, Waterpolo, and Easter

Now I can see why housework is so hard to get done!!! I have a little angel coming up behind me and undoing what I'm working on! Who knew that hangers and pulling out laundry could be so fun!

Friday night, Todd went to go get a few groceries we needed. When he came back he had a surprise for Cambria. Meat sticks. He used to love them as a kid and decided to "pass the torch". She really liked them and especially liked that she could feed them to herself. Todd kept saying that line from the Hilshire Farms commercial, 'go meat!' Cambria mimicked him back and that's why her hand is up in the first picture.

Saturday early afternoon we headed to NISD Natatorium to watch SV Waterpolo. Afterward we headed to Olive Garden for a little lunch and then Todd had to be back for his second game. I had to go get Cambria's Easter pictures taken. This is Cambria laughing at Kaleigh who was being silly so that we could get some cute pictures of Cambria smiling.

Oh yeah...there was a game going on, too! Just kidding. Todd's SV Ranger Waterpolo boys were actually playing Holmes where he coached last year. It was fun to get to see both of Todd's teams especially the Holmes kids who are all upperclassmen now! SV also secured a spot in Regionals next weekend!! How's that for their inaugural year?! Way to go SV! We love you Todd and are SO proud of your dedication to this team.

Cambria and I had her pictures made on Saturday. She did REALLY well considering that we were 10 minutes early for our appointment and had to wait an HOUR past that!! We also met a little girl there who's name is Cambree. She loved sitting at the Leggo table with the bigger kids in a little chair. The pictures turned out very cute.

Breakfast at McDonald's Easter morning after church. She enjoyed watching the kids play in the play area. Church was really good today. We go to Community Bible Church. You can watch Robert Emmitt's weekly sermon's online. He is a fabulous preacher!

Cambria in her Easter dress. Doesn't she look like she's on a parade float?!

Kaleigh was so awesome and pushed Cambria around on her scooter. Cambria loved it!

Waterpolo Weekend

Cambria and I went on Saturday to watch Todd's water polo games. Those boys have come so far! None of them have ever played WP and so it's nice to see how enthusiastic they are about it.

Friday Cambria went to the doctor and here are her recent 10 month stats.
Height-27 1/4 in (10th percentile)
Weight-20 lbs 4 oz (50th percentile)
The doctor said that since she's very short for her age but her weight is average, that's why she appears "chunky". Ha ha!!! We love our little chunky monkey!!
