Amen!!

I was reading a post from Mckmama's blog (see the button on the right) and this confession she has about her marriage brought tears to my eyes.
Quoted from her blog:
God's will for my marriage is not for me to try to manufacture some false sense of equal partnership with my husband, in that he must meet my needs and honor me and make me happy before I will feel willing to reciprocate the same for him.

I am beginning to strive to speak nicely to my husband even when he is not doing the same. I seek to respect him even if he is not acting respectable. After all, I enjoy being loved even when I am unlovable!

And God always loves us even when we are unlovable.

This is so true!
Todd and I have been talking a lot about marriage, lately. It's amazing to see that this is a talk that other people have. We came to this realization recently together, as well. She recommends the book Sacred Marriage and that her and her husband read it together every night before bed. This sounds like a good idea to me. I want to continue perfecting my marriage, too!

Cambria turned 9 months yesterday.  She can do so much! She can
-Hold a cup
-Suck through a straw (and actually get something)
-Knows mama from dada
-Can tell us she wants water (wawa)
-Is easily entertained by herself
-LAUGHS so much
-Can feed herself cheerios
-Likes to feed herself with her spoon
-Can stand up balancing on a chair, etc.
-Can balance on her feet for a couple seconds
-Scoots around on her butt
-"Talks" to the dogs
-Plays peek-a-boo (especially with Todd's male swimmers!)
-Still not interested in crawling!!!

Happy Baby

We had a wonderful weekend. Cambria and I went to see her grandparents/my parents. My mom and I took her with us to go eat and shop in Boerne. She did really good....until a massive blowout! Since it was a historic house that the restaurant was in, there was not a changing pad! So, I had to get creative. Cambria also had fun with Grandpa and his dogs. He thinks she's a budding veterinarian.
Yesterday, Cambria turned 9 months! We went to a BBQ and she had a lot of fun, especially on the swing. She loved it! Her daddy is convinced she needs one now. She also liked sitting on the trampoline when the two two-year-olds were jumping on it. She kept laughing at it! It was another awesome weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day! We woke up and Todd had flowers and chocolate covered strawberries for me. Cambria got a singing balloon which she LOVED. We then went to Todd's swim meet to watch one of his swimmers compete in finals for Regionals. She placed 3rd but they only take 1st to state. She looked good and luckily is only a freshman so she'll get there. We then went for a Valentine's Dinner at Pei Wei and got Cold Stone ice cream afterward. Then we came home and watched movies. Todd's other gift to me was watching Cambria while I went to a movie with a friend Sunday night. It was a nice day!

Bruiser

This weekend was a little uneventful since I was sick and in bed for most of it. It took about 5 days and now I finally feel like me again. I didn't want Cambria to be bored so I made a temporary bed on her floor and played with her. Well, it was during this that she got her first bruise. It's below her left eye. If she's like her mother, this will be one of many. She was playing with her ball popper and dove for the elephant and their heads collided. Unfortunately, the elephant's is hard plastic. She cried for about 5 seconds until I picked her up and put her in my lap. Then she wanted back down to play again. She's a tough one! She also had another fun moment this weekend. We were taking a bath together and she pooped in it!! I guess she will be bathing alone from now on!!

Happy Birthday Valerie!

Although we say it all the time, I just wanted to remind you how much I love you. I am so grateful to have a sister that is my best friend and that I can lean on. You are such a wonderful person and I am so grateful for you. Cambria is lucky to have you as an aunt. I appreciate you. Thank you for always being there when I needed someone to listen and you were the only one who could understand. You are so generous with Cambria and she loves all your monthly gifts (and sometimes weekly gifts)! Happy birthday to a beautiful sister, inside and out. We love you SO much!

A few moments this week

This is what Cambria's hair looked like after her bath this morning!! It's even more spikey when it's wet!!

Little 'Miss Nall'. Cambria came with me to school Tuesday morning while she waited for Todd to come pick her up. She loves my key chain and wanted to sit in my chair. She looked like a little teacher!! All the kids were gathering around her and even coming from other classes to see her. Word got out that she was there and by 5th period one of the kids was looking for her and thought I had hid her in a closed/locked closet!! She had been gone since before 1st period. I would not be a very good Home Eco. teacher if that's what I did seeing that we always talk about child abuse in our Child Development unit.

On Wednesday, Cambria and I went to go see Tiffany and Hailey. It's amazing how fast Cambria and Hailey have grown and developed. They were having fun playing with the bag that Cambria's gift from Hailey came in. It was funny to watch. Cambria liked the noise the bag made and chewing on it. Hailey liked the pretty purple ribbon. Pretty soon we are going to have to watch these two. They may be double trouble!!! It was really nice to see Tiff and Hailey.

Saturday was finals for District Swimming. We went to watch Todd's team and cheer on the Rangers. They did really well and Todd will advance 11 swimmers to Regionals on February 13th. Cambria was just laughing and laughing. She loves her dad!
